The Environmental Service Technician provides a variety of services and duties to ensure the sanitation, infection control and cleanliness of Emerald Heights’ facilities.
Pay Scale : $17.75-$22.61

Eligibility begins the first of the month following 30 days of employment. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 403(B) plan (Eligibility on 403b 20+ hours per week) We match 50 cents for every dollar saved up to 10% of your annual salary.
Matching begins the first of the quarter following 1 year of employment. Full-time employees are eligible to accrue up to 16 paid time off days, 6 paid holidays and 3 personal days.
Pro-rated paid time off is available to part-time employees.

- Provides general cleaning services of resident living areas such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors, dusting and emptying trash.
- Makes beds and / or changes linens.
- Cleans large appliances : refrigerators, stoves / ovens, washers, dryers and microwaves.
- Disinfects medical equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, scooters, medicine carts, and beds.
- Handles soiled linens using universal infection protection techniques.
- Performs laundry services for residents, Health Services and Food & Beverage departments using commercial laundry equipment.
- Irons, folds and returns clean laundry to residents, Health Services and Food & Beverage departments.
- Restocks skilled nursing home rooms with bathroom supplies including toilet tissues, paper towels, hand soap, and gloves.
- Spot-cleans carpets.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience :
- High school degree or GED required.
- Three months’ housekeeping / laundry service experience preferred.
- Common sense and good judgments
- Able to learn new procedures and techniques quickly
- Able to work effectively and efficiently.
- Able to work both independently or in a team environment.
- Deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the general public
- Able to keep confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and co-workers in English.
