Job Summary :

The Multi-Site Hospital Director is the multi-site leader of several MVP hospitals. In this role, the Multi-Site Hospital Director is responsible for achieving hospital performance against MVP KPIs, aligning, and coordinating the work of the Practice Manager and Medical Director to achieve hospital goals, working closely with the Regional Director in support of company-wide initiatives, maintaining a strong and effective hospital work cultures, and advocating for hospital needs.

The Multi-Site Hospital Director must have a strong understanding of the operations and medical issues in the hospitals, where improvement opportunities exist, and have an excellent working relationship with the Regional Director, Practice Manager, Medical Director, and other hospital personnel to enable year after year performance improvement.

The Multi-Site Hospital Director must approach the role with a servant leader philosophy of listening and communicating to others, setting and working toward a vision of the future for the hospitals, and developing a strong team and supportive work culture.

They will serve as the accountability partner for the hospitals to ensure operational, medical, and cultural objectives are met and will report to the Regional Director.

Travel required : 50-60%

Responsibilities

Essential Functions :

  • Maintain and uphold Core Values and Mission Statement of MVP.
  • Demonstrates a servant leader philosophy by being engaged, listening to others, breaking down performance barriers, creating a motivating team-oriented environment, providing open communication, being approachable and modeling MVP best practices.
  • Supports hospital leaders in setting hospital vision and developing the hospital business plan
  • Ensures the following objectives are met for the hospitals they lead : Responsible for achieving NPS and eNPS goals, reviewing feedback and driving plans of improvement based on the results.

  • Ensures hospital has appropriate ownership of and compliance with Regulatory MattersControlled substance compliance and controlOSHA compliance
  • Ensures hospital leadership and personnel are regularly communicated with and informed of information from RD and / or others within MVPIs a positive voice for MVP in the hospital and ensures the team understands the WHY behind company initiativesEnsures key information from weekly CEO updates and other distributed company-wide MVP information is distributed to hospital team members
  • Supports hospital leaders in creating a highly functioning team within the hospitalEnsures teams are meeting regularly to discuss and implement improvement ideasRecognizes performance expectations of MVP and strategizes with key hospital personnel and the Regional Director on how to meet them
  • Participates in MVP continuous learning and development programs
  • Maintains a professional working relationship with the Regional Director and hospital leaders
  • Participates in Monthly Business Reviews for their hospitals
  • Ensures frequent communication keeping the hospital aligned with MVP direction, initiatives, and strategy
  • Ensures continuous development of direct reports in each clinic per MVP talent management and succession process (., annual development plans, constant feedback, and coaching).

Particularly in primary hospital location, succession plan is well established and in process to ensure continued and consistent performance.

  • Anticipates recruiting needs and partners with the Talent Acquisition department and Regional Medical Ambassadors to ensure a talent pipeline.
  • Reviews scheduling efficiency with managers to adapt to the needs of the business.
  • Reviews facility, equipment, and inventory needs and discusses with hospital team at regular intervals.
  • Reviews all pricing quarterly and ensures it is updated at least annually.
  • Responsible for ensuring that appropriate and current security roles within PIMS are maintained and accurate; including but not limited to current employees, discounting and reminder set up.

Additional Functions :

  • Acts as an ambassador for MVP’s brand in connection with all medical and non-medical standards
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • 2-5 years in Veterinary or Human Healthcare management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a veterinary hospital to achieve financial plan.
  • Ability to evaluate medical and operational needs of the hospital, identify root cause and develop solutions.
  • Superior customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to get things done in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ability to develop strong and supportive working relationships with a wide variety of people and backgrounds.
  • Exceptional written and oral presentation skills; ability to present concisely and with detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • General understanding of business financials, P&L, pricing, contract negotiations, revenues, and payroll.

Required Education and Experience :

Refer to requirements of Practice Manager or Medical Director JD.

Physical Requirements :

In general, the position requires the following physical activities :

  • Able to lift minimum of 2 pounds to a maximum of 20 pounds unassisted.
  • Able to sit stand, stoop, walk, stretch, reach frequently.
  • Sitting, standing, and walking on hard floor surfaces for extended periods.
  • Moderate range of body motions.
  • Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate equipment.
  • Employee is routinely exposed to a variety of pets that may bite or scratch, and on occasion, exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medication / controlled substances.
  • Able to work in noisy work conditions with sounds from animals and equipment that can be moderately high.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
