Job Summary :
The Warehouse Supervisor will manage the receiving, handling, storing, pulling, and packing of all job activities of the warehouse, ensuring that quality and safety standards are met or exceeded.
The warehouse supervisor must achieve inventory accuracy, coordinate job fulfillment, and track shipping and receiving of all products ordered.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
Schedules and oversee warehouse team, and manage the flow, quality, and quantity of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime.
Daily check minimum and maximum stock, place orders for needed materials, turn paperwork into purchasing.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Daily pull job packs to the loading station for employee / crew pick up.
- Walk warehouse to check minimum and maximum on all material for orders on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
- Load all interoffice mail and transfers onto the delivery truck.
- Every morning help the field crews with materials ordered or needed for their job packs.
- Receive trucks with supplies, check the material, scan packing lists and paperwork, forward to the purchasing department.
- Assist my team in stocking materials received.
- Complete forklift inspection daily prior to first use.
- Weekly toolbox talk / safety meeting with my team.
- Finish the day making sure the shelves are restocked and organized, take out all trash, sweep the floors.
- Supervise daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity and time management.
- Coordinates and schedules the movement of products throughout the warehouse including storage and shipment / pickup of finished products / jobs.
- Confirms availability of items to be sent out by verifying inventory records or conducting inventories of required items.
- Places orders for material needed promptly to reduce back orders.
- Documents all related activities and completes forms and reports.
- Turns in all packing slips to purchasing department for reconciliation.
- Maintains a safe work environment for employees by leading all safety programs assigned.
- Performs other related duties as directed.
- Keep warehouse clean and organized.
- Inspects forklift daily, send for maintenance as needed.
Required Skills / Abilities :
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures.
- License to operate a forklift.
- Familiar with OSHA warehouse safety regulations and requirements
- Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn company product codes and terminology.
- Good analytical skills and ability to make sound judgments relative to inventory.
Education and Experience :
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three or more years of experience in a warehouse role managing hourly employees.
Physical Requirements :
- Prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, lifting pushing, and pulling.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Ability to move around the warehouse.
