1) 1-8 yrs Experience Configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain routers and switches.
Key terms : RIP, IGRP, OSPF, EGP, EIGRP, BGP, IS-IS.
2) 2+ yrs Experience WAN. Need to have worked on WAN networks not LAN
3)Active Secret or TS clearance and Security+ cert (or equivalent) 90 day grace period on 8570 compliance. Which means they can start and get their security+ within the first three months.

The core telecommunications capabilities supported by the program enables the Warfighter to meet operational needs by providing world-wide telecommunications, supporting natural disaster relief, and conducting humanitarian assistance in peace time crises, regional conflicts, and at the same time executing on-going strategic deterrence activities.
This position is a 24x7 Global Network Support Center (GNSC) working in our Transport, IP, and / or Unified Capabilities (UC) NOC.
What candidates need to get the job :
The top three skills are how candidates get the job. However, this position will require learning and an ability to work in a fast paced environment.
These candidates are not working with physical equipment. They are using a remedy ticketing systems to find issues with the network.
From there they will be working with a portal running different tests and troubleshooting issues to resolve the ticket. If they can 't they will rely on others on the operations floor to help them.
At that point it can be escalated to the OE (operational engineering) team to be resolved. These engineers sit upstairs in the DISA building.
A great plus as it will be a large part of their job will be, diagnosing, troubleshoot, and resolving network related issues through monitoring, and testing.
Average day will consist of below duties :
Conduct network and telecommunications system incident investigation.
Identify and document network errors and solutions.
Analyze network and telecommunications alarms and identify potential issues.
