Position Overview
Contrarian Thinking is looking for a full-time, talented Scriptwriter to join our dynamic social media team based in Austin, Texas.
We produce tens of millions of monthly short form views and believe that your creativity will be key to our growth. You will work closely with our CEO Codie Sanchez and our high-caliber media crew that has partnered with some of the world's top creators and brands.
Your mission
Imagine, script, and help produce viral social media content that resonates to a global audience. As our Video Scriptwriter, you'll be the creative force behind Codie Sanchez's personal brand, our top 100 business podcast, The BigDeal, and our business community account.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate innovative content ideas and draft scripts for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram Reels that are fresh and engaging.
- Collaborate with our team to spearhead content strategies aimed at capturing viral growth across multiple platforms.
- Dive deep into the mechanics of storytelling, ensuring each script has a powerful hook and narrative flow tailored for social media.
- Keep your finger on the pulse of viral trends, platform updates, and content formats to help us stay ahead of the curve.
- Work with editors to bring your scripts to life, ensuring high-quality production from concept to final edit.
- Participate in creative brainstorms and strategy sessions, contributing with your unique perspective and innovative ideas.

- 5+ years of experience crafting, scripting, and editing short-form video content that has achieved viral success.
- Proven track record of growing social media accounts through viral and engaging content.
- Ability to analyze trends and audience data to inform content strategy.
- Strong collaborative skills, ensuring smooth teamwork and high-quality output.
- Agility in adapting to the fast-changing digital landscape and a solution-oriented mindset.

Why our work matters
The Silver Tsunami is in full effect, with Baby Boomers retiring and their businesses needing a succession plan.

Compensation
$85,000 - $135,000 total compensation, depending on performance

Austin, TX
Please note : This hybrid position requires regular in-person collaboration in Austin, Texas. Applicants must reside within a 1-hour drive of Austin, Texas to be considered.
