Project Management Specialist III

Location : DSHS Central Campus, Austin, TX

Position Overview :

Siter-Neubauer & Associates, a global MRINetwork recruitment firm, is seeking a skilled Project Management Specialist III to join the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) at their Central Campus in Austin, TX.

This role involves managing and leading projects related to COVID-19 activities, enhancing services, and improving program operations.

Essential Job Functions :

  • Project Management (50%) : Oversee project status, budgets, and reporting. Lead meetings, drive project tasks to completion, and develop project documentation, including integration, scope, schedule, and communication plans.
  • Stakeholder Communication (20%) : Ensure all stakeholders understand project objectives and provide regular updates on project status and readiness.
  • Project Coordination (15%) : Manage multiple projects, addressing risks, changes, and progress while ensuring project planning and execution.
  • Project Execution (10%) : Handle project design, release planning, and closeout. Manage change, risk, and quality throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Team Coaching (5%) : Mentor agile teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Experience leading large projects, ideally with at least one year in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Microsoft Project is a plus.
  • Ability to organize and present information effectively both orally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree or higher in public health, business administration, public affairs, organizational leadership, communications, or a related field.
  • 4-8 years of experience in project management, quality management, public health, social services, or related fields.

Schedule : Hybrid staffing with in-office presence three days per week (flexible) and telework two days per week. Specific in-office days are subject to supervisor approval.

Services required Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time.
