About the position : We are searching for an expert Ceramist to join our team. This position is responsible for creating beautiful restorations for the most advanced cases, including anterior, multi-unit, and veneer restorations.
Our ideal candidate is well-versed in all facets of ceramics, including investing, opaque, stacking, contouring, and staining / glazing. CDT preferred.
Schedule : Full-Time, Monday-Friday 8 : 00 am 5 : 00 pm, with additional OT some days, depending on workload.

Ceramics Dental Technician Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrates understanding of dental terms and basic dental anatomy.
- Reads and interprets dental prosthetic prescriptions and preferences.
- Tracks and barcodes work using case tracking software.
- Performs work in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines and completes quality control measures.
- Proficient and meets production goals in at least one specialty.
- Trainees : *Must complete training and meet production goals in one specialty within six months of hire.
- Other duties, as assigned.
SPECIALTIES
- Investing : *Invests and devests Enamelux cases per manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Opaque : *Degasses and opaques metal frameworks.
- Stain & Glaze : *Applies stains and glazes to create custom-matched and esthetically pleasing dental restorations.
- Stacking : Level I- *Successfully completes all position responsibilities. *Applies porcelain layers to posterior single and multi-unit cases.
Level II- *Successfully completes all position responsibilities of lower levels. *Applies porcelain to labial margins and completes complex cases, including anterior single and multi-unit restorations.
- Contouring : Level I- *Successfully completes all position responsibilities. *Contours posterior crowns and bridges. Level II- *Successfully performs all position responsibilities of lower levels.
- Contours porcelain labial margins and completes complex cases, including anterior and veneer restorations.

MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT USED
High-speed rotary handpiece, desktop sander, lathe, ovens, auto batcher, vacuum mixer, vibration table, steamer, ultrasonic cleaner, scale, dental excavator, paintbrush, microscope, loupes, computer tablet.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Certified Dental Technician (CDT)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work is performed in a temperature controlled environment. Continuous exposure to dust and noise.
- Good manual dexterity and hand / eye coordination. Continuously use arms, wrists, hands, and feet to grasp / squeeze tools and operate a foot control.
- Continuously perform sedentary work at a workstation, sitting and / or standing.
- Occasionally walk across level surfaces.
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull up to 10 pounds (25 pounds in Investing specialty).
- Occasionally reach from ground to above shoulder height.
- Specific to Stain & Glaze specialty : High visual acuity to continuously discern slight variations in color.
