Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking experienced and motivated Data and AI Solutions Architects to partner with enterprise customers in their journey to become data-driven organizations.

In this highly technical and customer-facing role, you will engage directly with customers to understand their business drivers, assess data and analytics needs, and design reliable, cost-effective, and scalable cloud architectures on AWS for data, analytics, and AI workloads.

As a trusted customer advocate, you will help organizations understand best practices around advanced data, analytics, and AI solutions on the cloud.

You will provide strategic guidance on migrating existing data and analytics workloads to the cloud, as well as implementing new AI and machine learning models.

You will build deep relationships with senior technical leaders and data stakeholders to enable them as cloud advocates within their companies.

A core responsibility is educating customers on the value proposition of AWS's data, analytics, and AI services through training sessions, deep architectural discussions, and cloud acceleration programs.

You will drive revenue growth by formulating and executing sales strategies in partnership with the AWS Sales team, focusing on data, analytics, and AI opportunities.

This involves mobilizing internal AWS resources and the partner ecosystem to ensure successful implementation of data platforms, analytics solutions, and AI / ML models on AWS.

Additionally, you will capture and share best practice knowledge across AWS, including authoring customer-facing content like whitepapers and blog posts.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Hands-on experience with AWS data, analytics, and AI / ML services or equivalent cloud platforms.
  • Fluently communicate with customers at all levels, including data stakeholders, boardrooms, and peers, evolving to the 'trusted advisor' for data, analytics, and AI.
  • Ability to think strategically about complex technical and business challenges related to data, analytics, and AI.
  • Build deep relationships to become a customers' trusted advisor for their critical data, analytics, and AI workloads.
  • Drive business engagements to develop technical strategies for migrating and implementing data platforms, analytics solutions, and AI / ML models on the cloud.
  • Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS's data, analytics, and AI services, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure they design solutions for resiliency, security, and cost optimization.
  • Collaborate across AWS teams to drive and shape new data, analytics, and AI solutions and mechanisms for repeatable customer business outcomes.
  • Represent and promote AWS's data, analytics, and AI capabilities within the enterprise community.
  • Assist Partners in designing and implementing large-scale data, analytics, and AI solutions.
  • Capture and share best-practice knowledge for deploying, running, and managing data, analytics, and AI workloads on AWS.
  • Contribute to AWS internal and customer-facing publications, such as whitepapers and blogs, on data, analytics, and AI topics, as a means of scaling your knowledge.
  • Influence cloud services roadmap for data, analytics, and AI, by acting as a liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and support to address customer needs.

A Day in the Life

In this role, your typical day will involve partnering with enterprise customers, AWS Sales teams, and internal AWS data and AI specialists to design and implement highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures for data, analytics, and AI workloads.

You will link your deep expertise in data engineering, analytics, and machine learning to tangible business solutions, defining and creating cloud-native reference architectures that accelerate customers' digital transformation and unlock the power of their data.

A core part of your role is acting as a trusted customer advocate, helping organizations understand best practices for cloud-based data, analytics, and AI solutions.

You will shape strategies to build mindshare and broaden the use of AWS's data, analytics, and AI services across customer organizations, utilizing your ability to think strategically about business objectives, data challenges, and technical complexities.

Your creativity will be channeled into developing new architectural patterns, best practices, and technical content focused on data, analytics, and AI on AWS.

You will author whitepapers, code samples, blog posts, and more to share your expertise across AWS and the broader data community.

You will evangelize AWS's data, analytics, and AI capabilities through workshops, user groups, public speaking engagements, online videos, and conferences.

Your day will strike a balance between customer meetings, working on data, analytics, and AI solutions, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing.

The AWS Solutions Architecture team provides an open environment with self-paced learning, instructor-led training, hands-on projects, job shadowing, and mentoring opportunities to expand your expertise in AWS's data, analytics, and AI services.

You'll bring an insatiable curiosity to understand the latest data-driven technologies and achieve outcomes that delight customers and unlock the value of their data.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years experience in data and analytics technology domain areas, including data engineering, data modeling, data warehousing, and data visualization.
  • Proven experience in software development, cloud computing, and systems engineering, with a focus on designing and implementing data and AI solutions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of database design and implementation, including relational and non-relational databases, data lakes, and data warehousing solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence techniques, algorithms, and tools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in designing and implementing distributed data systems, including big data platforms, data lakes, and streaming data architectures.
  • Experience in developing and evangelizing end-to-end technology roadmaps and solutions that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing and data / AI adoption.
  • AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty or similar cloud data / AI certification.
  • Experience in cloud architecture and CXO-level engagement, with a proven track record of leading large-scale data and AI initiatives.
  • Expertise in data governance, data quality, and data privacy / security best practices.
  • Proficiency in data storytelling, data visualization, and effectively communicating complex data insights to diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts and solutions through whiteboardings and executive-level presentations to internal and external stakeholders, IT management, and developers.
