About Applications Development & Integration :

Applications Development and Integration (ADI) handles the digital application infrastructure for UO Libraries and offers technology services that align with the libraries and the university’s missions.

These services encompass various aspects of web-based application development, such as installation, customization, management, maintenance, and support.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Associate Vice Provost and University Librarian for Collections, Discovery, and Digital Strategy, the Director of Applications Development and Integration provides high-level technical leadership, project management, and vision and direction in planning, developing, and maintaining the library’s digital infrastructure, web interfaces, and digital applications that support and enhance library workflows and services aligned with the libraries’ strategic plan and the campus academic and research priorities.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of skills and experience.
  • Six years of progressive information technology experience.
  • Three years of technical experience working with web applications, including front-end or back-end programming skills.
  • Two years of experience leading projects in a cross-functional environment.
  • Two years of experience in management or supervisory capacity.

Professional Competencies

  • Strong supervisory and performance management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability in managing complex technical projects and teams.
  • Ability to gather data, perform analyses, solve problems, and prioritize among competing demands in order to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to successfully communicate technical / complex information to technical and non-technical audiences across an array of multimedia types.
  • Demonstrated experience with web accessibility and usability norms / guidelines.
  • Ability to support and enhance a diverse learning and working environment, maintain a respectful workplace, and model a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Knowledge of contemporary trends in library practice that influence digital infrastructure and application needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in library science, information science, computer science, information systems, or related field.
  • Experience working in an IT environment in higher education.
  • Experience working with library discovery and management systems (Alma, Primo VE).
  • Experience working with content management systems (Drupal, WordPress), and collaboration tools (GitHub, Confluence, JIRA).
  • Experience with front-end web programming languages and frameworks (JavaScript, Ruby, Python, Angular.js, Node.js, others).
  • Experience with digital repositories.

Salary

$87,500 $112,500 per year, commensurate with experience
