The basics of this position :
Implements student evaluation procedures by consulting with Director of Testing on the selection of appropriate placement and other testing procedures;
develops testing program which assists students with understanding / utilizing a variety of proctored testing requirements for online, hybrid flexibility, and other course modalities.
Assesses and maintains the effectiveness of the Testing Center and services provided in reference to the National College Testing Association's statement of guidelines and standards and the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education.
Works in collaboration with the Online Education department, faculty and remote partners to develop and determine appropriateness of remote proctored testing sites.
What you'll do :
Responsible for operations of the Testing Center for in person testing, following district and NCTA standards and guidelines.
Assists online students who need a proctored experience for their courses in locating or using such sites.
- Maintains a database of approved locations.
- Coordinates the sending and returning of exams and exam information to remote proctoring locations utilizing technology as appropriate.
- Ensures that all exam information is secure and returned to faculty in timely manner.
- Establishes and maintains policies and procedures for effective and efficient use of testing services by working collaboratively with internal partners such as District Testing Director, department chairs and faculty, Enrollment services, access, financial aid and others.
- Adjusts various assessment service delivery systems in response to student needs, special student populations, enrollment trends and changing campus environments.
- Works collaboratively with external constituents such as K-12 partners as deemed appropriate by the institution.
- Coordinates and supervises administration of national testing programs in which the institution participates, such as ACT, HiSet and others.
- Serves as a resource for faculty on issues related to testing services. Recruits, trains, supervises part-time and student staff providing placement and testing services.
Responsible for processing and reporting on the Student Evaluation of Instruction. Develops and maintains materials used in the training of staff.
- Assists in providing appropriate study and preparation material for students relating to various tests provided by the Testing Center.
- Develops, maintains, and continuously improves Testing Center’s programs and services consistent with changing client needs and evolving institutional priorities.
- Plans, allocates, and monitors the use of human and financial resources to achieve department’s mission and goals. Ensures adequate and accessible facilities, equipment, and technology to support programs and services.
- Develops, supports, and promotes the use of assessment and evaluation to identify needs, improve the assessment program and services, maximize efficiencies, recognize performance, and achieve learning outcomes.
- Collaborates with testing professionals across the district to keep services as consistent as possible.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Education, experience, and other requirements :
Bachelor’s degree and three or more years of experience in a testing environment.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with online testing / proctoring and intermediate to advance skills in Excel and Smartsheets.
