Overview of the Role

The Director of Sales is responsible for ensuring delivery of core business goals - delivering incremental sales and helping the team to foster trusting relationships that can be leveraged in the future.

They are responsible for leading the sales team and ongoing processes at a regional level. This person will be the lead for ongoing strategic planning and communication.

They must be skilled at establishing and maintaining relationships, problem-solving, and finding creative solutions for unique obstacles in the day-to-day.

The Director of Sales will be responsible for leading a team of sales managers and must work closely with them to drive revenue, develop go-to-market strategies, and establish and meet individual performance goals.

  • Location : Remote but must be local to Southern California or Arizona
  • Salary : $100,000 - $110,000 depending on years of experience and expertise
  • Travel Requirements : Up to 25% - Regional position; travel possibilities would include major industry shows, client meetings, team trainings, leadership trainings, and travel to corporate offices

What You’ll Do at C.A. Fortune

  • Effective at leading a team of Account Managers and Sales Support
  • Facilitate a transparent collaborative partnership with clients & internal cross-functional team members
  • Responsible for the implementation of CAF selling techniques
  • Coordinate with clients to develop and implement any applicable specific brand training
  • Participate in regular market interaction with the team to understand the situation on the ground and provide active guidance and ongoing training, as necessary
  • Ensure the team is trained on appropriate tools and technology, and that those tools and technology are being put to proper use.
  • Communicate with leadership on a regular basis to help problem solve and ensure best practices are being shared
  • Provide direction to clients on the best way to package information that allows for the CAF team to understand and leverage the proper resources to execute respective responsibilities
  • Act as the conduit of communication for all significant information flow with supervisors and the client teams, including regular communication with the client Director of Retail

  • Skillfully maintain the existing sales portfolio, strive to establish and help the team to establish new customer relationships and seek out strategic partnerships
  • Monitor metrics, obtain insights on business execution, and proactively offer suggestions to both supervisors and clients on ways to improve the likelihood of goal attainment
  • Ensure that the team is motivated to achieve organizational and personal goals

What You Should Bring to the Table

  • A demonstrated competency in multi-tasking and problem-solving with focus on meeting deadlines
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinker; can turn self-developed strategies / efficient processes into execution
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience selling product direct to retailers and across multiple categories throughout the store
  • Experience working with both National and Regional distributors
  • Experience managing and planning trade spend
  • Advanced communication skills, ability to clearly articulate complex concepts in a concise manner and establish rapport quickly
  • 7+ years of experience in a sales function required
  • Experience in a people leadership position
