This position is remote but with travel to local communities within greater Phoenix area as needed*

The Accounting Assistant is responsible for a variety of clerical and bookkeeping and accounting tasks, applying accepted procedures to the preparation and maintenance of accounting and other records, and preparing financial, statistical, and / or technical reports

Pay Range : $25 - 27 per hour, depending on experience

Responsibilities

  • Assist with monthly prepaid and accrual schedules
  • Assist with monthly Wells Fargo Bank PCard upload
  • Assist with biweekly payroll upload
  • Coordinate monthly rent increase notices
  • Assist with external and internal monthly financial reporting packages
  • Prepare account analyses, as assigned
  • Coordinate with community and home office team members to ensure proper coding and approval of invoices and resolve discrepancies with vendors
  • Process invoices and allocations accurately and in a timely manner
  • Process regular check runs containing a high volume of invoices
  • Process ACH auto pay invoices
  • Train new users on Yardi PayScan
  • Maintain all accounts payable files
  • Process resident deposits and refunds
  • Assist with credit application process
  • Process bank reconciliations for communities and Home Office, as assigned
  • Assist with annual 1099 reporting
  • Assist with Navigator GPO Administration, as assigned
  • Coordinate annual Business License renewals, as assigned
  • Assist with annual entity reporting, as assigned
  • Responsibility for special projects, as assigned

Qualifications

  • Basic proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office and use of ten-key by touch.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary and within assigned deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A self-starter with a positive team attitude
  • 3 years of A / P processing experience
  • BA in Accounting a plus
  • Senior Living experience preferred
  • Yardi experience preferred
  • Property management experience a plus
