LHH is ramping up a search for a Production Engineer in the Metro Detroit area. The Production Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing our production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of manufacturing principles.
Key Responsibilities :
Designing and implementing production processes and workflows to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
Developing and improving manufacturing processes and procedures to enhance product quality and reduce production costs.
Conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions for production issues and non-conformances.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including production managers, quality assurance, and maintenance technicians, to resolve production-related problems.
Monitoring production metrics, analyzing data, and implementing improvements to optimize production output and performance.
Ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations in all production activities.
Supporting new product introductions (NPI) and process validations, including equipment selection and qualification.
Providing technical guidance and training to production personnel to ensure consistent adherence to production standards and best practices.
Participating in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing projects to drive operational excellence.
Maintaining documentation of processes, procedures, and production records to comply with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a production engineering or process engineering role.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, assembly, welding, and / or injection molding.
Proficiency in CAD software and familiarity with ERP / MRP systems is desirable.
Experience with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
