Job Overview : We are seeking a seasoned Control Systems Engineer to contribute to industrial automation projects, with a focus on PLC and HMI design and programming.
This role encompasses project engineering throughout its lifecycle, both as an individual contributor and as part of a team.
This role offers leadership responsibilities over junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assess existing control systems.
- Design and program control systems, including :
- Control panel design.
- Development of Bill of Materials (BOM).
- PLC and HMI programming.
- Design of communication networks.
- Prepare system documentation and manuals.
- Conduct Customer-Witnessed Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
- Provide onsite installation supervision as needed.
- Oversee onsite commissioning activities :
- Hot-loop testing of new systems.
- System start-up.
- Deliver customer training and offer lifecycle support.

Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (e.g., Control Systems, Electrical Engineering).
- 5+ years of experience in industrial PLC and HMI application and programming.
- 5+ years of experience in control system projects from design to commissioning and client support.
- 5+ years of experience in at least one of the following industries : Power Generation, Oil & Gas, Water / Wastewater Treatment.
- Proficiency in Rockwell Automation and Allen Bradley PLC / HMI hardware and software.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship for employment visas).
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience in gas turbine controls within the power generation industry.
- Knowledge of generator control and protection systems.
- Expertise in control panel design and testing.
- Familiarity with condition monitoring systems (vibration monitoring, speed sensors, etc.).
- Strong communication skills, especially in customer-facing roles.
- Willingness to work overtime when necessary to meet project deadlines.
- Ability to travel (up to 40%) and work on customer sites, including industrial plants, offshore platforms, and ships. This may require climbing, working in confined spaces, or other non-traditional environments.
