Job Description

Product Design, Technical / Sustaining Engineering, Project Management, and end to end NPI / product life cycle management.

In conjunction with the BU’s leadership, the role will be responsible for the BU’s underlying growth to outperform our market sectors, generate cash conversation >

100%, target 6 inventory turns, efficient use of our assets and capital targeting >

16% R.O.C.E and achieve headline operating profitability >

18 - 20%. To drive NPI Vitality performance measured as revenue from products launched in the last three years to equal or >

30% as a percentage of revenue.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads by example by contributing and promoting a safe and healthy work environment & consistently demonstrates company values.
  • Provides and / or develops literature requests, data and information requirements, application information, proposal support for new opportunities and meetings to both internal and external customers.
  • Owner of technical core competencies within product line and facilitator to ensure these technologies are leveraged across the wider organization to deliver profitable growth.
  • Ensures accuracy, control and security of regional product team leaders to ensure the documentation and associated systems including change management.
  • Lead the mechanization and automation of our manual operations to reduce touches and improve operational efficiencies in all business processes where applicable.
  • Drives results with Operational teams on the creation and improvement of manufacturing processes and suppliers.
  • Collaborates with all departments to deploy company process and utilizes business productivity tools. Identifies and executes changes for VAVE improvement with inventory optimization in mind.
  • Partners with Human Resources to plan and execute appropriate staffing decisions to create / sustain technical competitiveness.
  • Organize yearly and monthly plans for project commitment, budget, schedule adherence, and cost targets.
  • Develop and influence product roadmap and strategy through market intelligence and voice of customer to ensure business profitability.
  • Manage system of supplier / partnerships for efficient project delivery Build proposals and business cases that inspire investment and product line growth
  • Provide data and perspective to both short / long-term product and technology development planning
  • Create and execute actions plans to ensure KPI’s and commitments are met including product line revenue and profitability.
  • Work with the product line managers to ensure strategy alignment and support of overall product delivery.
  • Support the development of customer relationship with emphasis on key accounts and strategic partnerships
  • Engage other RD&T teams to propagate best practices and share lessons learned.
  • Ensures accuracy, control and security of product designs, documentation and associated systems including design change management and ERP.
  • Cocreates and articulates value proposition, brand positioning and technology leadership to all stakeholders.
  • Performs a leadership role in strategic planning on both a short term and long term (3+ year) horizon with focus on increasing product and service competitiveness.
  • Conducts business and technical briefings for senior and top management and for external representatives.
  • Creates, manages and reviews analyses of activities, budgets, costs, and forecast to determine progress toward stated goals, team performance and objectives.
  • Demonstrates broad commercial and technical knowledge of portfolio to build world class technical expertise. IE 3D printing, FEA, mechanization etc.
  • Manages resource capacity including assignments, training, leave management, telecommuting and administers continuous performance review program to ensure effectiveness, development compliance, and equity within the organization.

  • University Degree (BS degree Electrical Engineering) required / Master’s degree in Science or Engineering is preferred coupled with 10+ years of relevant experience.

  • Understands export control, fair trade and anti-bribery / corruption law.
  • Understands evolving business needs may modify responsibilities.

Abilities :

  • Highly competent in design of RF subsystems, backplane and PCB connectors.
  • Experience in software analysis of electro / mechanical systems.
  • General educational, experience, competency and behavioral requirements defined by job architecture.
  • Effective communicator and leader. Makes commitments and delivers on promises.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. duplicate
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of customers, leaders, employees and the general public.
  • Knowledge of regional specific specifications, standards and certification requirements.
  • Experience with invention disclosures and associated process.
  • Knowledge 3D modeling software or equivalent, FEA (mechanical, electrical, thermal) analysis

Experience with Six Sigma or equivalent LEAN tools Travel % : 0-25%
