Retail Store Designer, Worldwide Retail Growth & Development, Store Design

We are looking for an innovative Store Designer to join the Store Design Team for Amazon physical retail. This position will be responsible for the implementation and customization of brand design standards.

You must demonstrate the ability to efficiently drive multiple projects throughout all phases of design, permitting and construction administration.

Key job responsibilities

• Translating brand design standards and concepts in an innovative yet fiscally responsible way
• Completing test fits and feasibility studies for your designs
• Working with key internal and external stakeholders in the production of comprehensive design development package and documents as needed to communicate design
• Coordinating with construction team on budget considerations and value engineering efforts
• Communicating with cross-functional teams and senior leadership
• Driving and creating Schematic Design Packages
• Reviewing construction documents, shop drawings and landlord documentation
• Providing Construction Administrative support as needed

Our retail store formats are designed from the ground up to offer a seamless shopping experience, whether customers are shopping in-store or online.

Our designs are customer obsessed, focusing on customers shopping in our stores and ensures that our operations team can work safely and efficiently.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree (BA / BS) in architecture or interior design
• 5+ years of commercial retail design or architecture experience
• Ability to manage change though multiple projects in various phases of design
• Experience with design development, construction documents, permitting and construction administration
• Proven track record of owning projects from start to finish
• Architecture / Retail Design throughout all phases of design
• Intermediate Revit skills required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Grocery experience strongly preferred
• Architectural background preferred
• Knowledge of current sustainability trends and practices preferred
• SketchUp, Bluebeam, Enscape, InDesign and Photoshop experience a plus
