Will offer per diem! Large utility is looking for a Mechanical Engineer in Armada Township, MI. The Owner's Engineer oversees modifications and new construction at natural gas compressor stations, ensuring safety, quality, and budget compliance while coordinating with stakeholders.

Responsibilities :
- Represent the company's interests throughout project lifecycles.
- Oversee and coordinate engineering aspects to meet safety, regulatory compliance, quality, cost-effectiveness, and schedule adherence.
- Develop and enforce engineering, equipment, and construction specifications.
- Provide engineering support for project development activities (feasibility studies, conceptual design, cost estimating).
- Oversee development of detailed design documents by external Engineers of Record.
- Review engineering drawings and calculations for construction projects.
- Develop technical specifications and bid documents for contracts.
- Lead technical bid evaluations for engineering and construction contracts.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to meet project objectives.
- Perform shop inspections and field engineering to resolve construction issues.
Skills :
- Experience in the design, construction, oil and gas, or operation of natural gas compressor station equipment.
- Knowledge of relevant safety standards and codes (e.g., CFR 49 Part 192, ASME Codes, API Specifications).
- Experience in procurement and contract document development.
Education and Experience :
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- 5+ years of applied engineering experience.
