Job Details
Responsibilities :
- Assist in all aspects of litigation, including :
- Class, collective, and PAGA actions
- Single-plaintiff actions
- Evaluate claims
- Handle mediation processes
- Take depositions
- Engage in motion practice
- Prepare for and participate in arbitration and trial
- Involve in administrative charge work, including preparing position statements
- Depending on experience :
- Work with senior attorneys to counsel HR professionals and business executives on employment law compliance
- Provide strategic advice to avoid and resolve employment disputes
Qualifications :
- Active California State Bar membership
- 5+ years of experience handling employment litigation in California, including :
- Wage and hour class, collective, or PAGA actions
- Substantial experience in employment litigation in California, specifically in :
- Discrimination
- Harassment
- Retaliation
- Leave interference claims
- Preferably representing management)
- Experience handling charges before the EEOC and similar state or local agencies
- Experience drafting employment policies (preferred)
- Experience counseling employers on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (preferred)
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
- Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously to meet client demands
- Excellent research, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills, including public speaking
