As a Customs Manager at RXO, you will facilitate and prepare customs entries, ensuring they are properly documented, classified and compliant with federal regulations.

What your day-to-day will look like :

  • Prepare customs entries for all import shipments to be submitted to and released from U.S. Customs in a timely manner
  • Document the review and assess accuracy by verifying country of origin / export, IOR, terms of sale and value to ensure compliance with federal regulation requirements
  • Ensure that all entries are properly classified by using company profiles, Customs Rulings Online Search System (CROSS), the internet and communicating with the importer of record
  • Develop and maintain customer profiles based on the customer's shipment history; coordinate with customers to classify new commodities according to HTS
  • Answer any Brokerage-related inquiries both internally and externally
  • Assist with compliance matters, including verifying power of attorney, conducting in-depth research, and developing classification
  • Educate customers on Brokerage operations to help increase sales

What you’ll need to excel :

At a minimum, you’ll need :

  • Customs Brokerage license
  • 4 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Windows applications and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project), including creating complex formulas in Excel
  • Solid knowledge of customs and participating government agency regulations, and the harmonized tariff schedule
  • Knowledge of accounting functions and relative information retrieval

It’d be great if you also have :

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree, or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 2 years of experience in a supervisory or specialist role
  • Project management experience
  • Experience handling customer escalations and root cause analysis
