The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Program Support, OLLI at UNLV

ROLE of the POSITION

The primary purpose of this position is to assist and support the director and staff in administering the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

The Program Support’s primary responsibility is to ensure support for the continuous development and implementation of Southern Nevada’s premiere intentional learning community, including the educational, operational, and fiscal success of the institute’s day-to-day program management with an emphasis on the engagement and experience of our members, meeting the vision, mission, and goals framed by the director, the university, and the Bernard Osher Foundation.

Further, the position will support and assist the director, staff, and volunteers in maintaining and improving program functions, increasing membership and revenue, and implementing and maintaining procedures for program implementation and assessment.

A current, valid driver’s license at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

This position is accountable for (1) coordination of OLLI classes, shared interest groups and related programming; (2) developing, documenting and implementing processes and procedures to meet the demands of our members and community and maintain high levels of member and instructor support;

3) assist with budget, fiscal, and member experience oversight; and (4) representing the institute and the Division of Educational Outreach to university departments, business and industry, government, education, and community partners.

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (OLLI at UNLV) is a member-driven learning community of more than 1,100 retired and semi-retired adults.

Our members continue a lifetime of learning by contributing to a program rich in content, shared interests, and life experiences.

In addition to our regularly scheduled classes, OLLI at UNLV offers a variety of special events, shared interest groups, and other member activities.

Our community is comprised of individuals from all backgrounds, there are no education requirements to participate in classes and activities simply a desire to share and construct knowledge.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university and 1-3 years of related experience.

A current, valid driver’s license at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience in a learning in retirement program.
