POSITION SUMMARY
- Plan, organize, and assist with the direction of the program
- Work with athletes during practices, events, and competitions
- Assess skills and assign team positions
- Assist with choosing team members
- Assist with organizing practice sessions
- Monitor each athlete, recommend safe techniques, and supervise warm-ups
- Self-motivation, creativity, and the ability to deliver constructive criticism
- Extended hours beyond the school day (weekdays & weekends)
- Willingness to learn and follow district policies and procedures
- Abide by district policies and dress code
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Have proven evidence of adequate preparation, background, and ability required by the position
- Must be a certified teacher for grades 9-12
- Be committed to implementing and enforcing policies and following prescribed procedures
- Have the skill to make and effectively communicate timely decisions
- Foster creativity and be responsible for innovative ideas
Education / Certification :
- CPR / First Aid Class
- Concussion
Special Knowledge / Skills :
- Must possess a thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport
- Experience in tennis, strong communication, and interpersonal abilities
Experience :
- Experience as a Tennis coach
- Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills
MINOR RESPONSIBILITIES :
Work with athletes during practices and games
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Attend clinics and other professional activities to improve coaching performance
- Create handouts of rules for the season's upcoming dates, try-out criteria, and other information about the upcoming season
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by the principal, Athletic Director, or other appropriate administrators
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Supervise and direct the student-athletes
- Maintain a physically safe practice environment and plan effective practices
- Assist with maintaining the budget

- Professional Dress : Dress must be clean, neat, in a manner appropriate for his or her assignment, and in accordance with any additional standards established by his or her supervisor and approved by the Superintendent.
During work hours, visible body piercings (except earrings) will not be allowed. Visible tattoos will be covered at all times
