QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Must have previous custodial and routine maintenance experience.
• Must have or obtain a Certified Pool Operators License (CPO) within 3 months.
• Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions and work independently.
• Must be physically qualified to perform assigned duties including lifting up to 50lbs on a regular basis and display flexibility in cleaning assignments.
• Ability to communicate in a clear, positive manner with staff, students and the public.
• Must have a desire to work in a cooperative manner and team environment.
• Must have a good attendance record and be punctual.
• Must have positive work performance evaluations. Must not have any recent disciplinary actions.
• Must conduct a positive interview. Must receive a good reference from current and previous supervisors.
• Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Clean assigned building areas and perform minor repairs and maintenance as directed.
• Maintain pool and filter system including chemical testing and records.
• Move and assemble furniture, etc.
• Assist with opening and securing the building.
• Assist with the school recycling program.
• Assist with grounds duties, pick up trash, mow, pull / spray weeds, snow removal, etc.
• Perform duties in a timely, neat, and efficient manner.
• Ability to work day or evening shift if required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
