Within the Products & Healthcare Services business unit, the Sr. Manager of Distribution & Logistics Services will provide marketing and category leadership for the U.
S. distribution and logistics business. This person will develop marketing plans, commercial strategies, and product roadmaps that increase market share and expand profitable growth.
This person is accountable for developing and executing initiatives in collaboration with key stakeholders across all aspects of the business including customers, commercial sales leaders, and operations.
The position will report to the Vice President of Brand Management.
Core Responsibilities
Identify areas of opportunity for profitable growth within the business and in the market.
Monitor industry developments, conduct market research and analysis, and synthesize insights in communications and action plans for leaders, solution developers, and commercial teams.
Develop customer-drive services portfolio strategy and solutions roadmap.
Develop tools and training for the launch of new service solutions, price / value strategies, marketing programs, targeted customer growth campaigns, and similar initiatives.
Establish and develop partnerships with external organizations that can enhance growth and customer retention.
Drive brand enhancement initiatives with support from the marketing services team.
Thoroughly understand category financials including the P&L, cash flows, and balance sheet drivers and work with teammates and leaders to drive improvements in financial metrics.
Serve as the solutions category leader, prioritizing activities and projects for cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
Effectively represent Owens & Minor internally and externally as the leader and expert on the distribution and logistics business.
Leverage and steward budgets to deliver profitable growth, including Trade spend, Advertising & Promotion (A&P), and other expenses.
Qualifying Experience
Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA highly preferred.
Minimum 10 years of product management, category management, or equivalent experience in a services-based business, preferable in a business-to-business industry.
Experience developing and implementing national commercial strategies including pricing, value-added programs, incentives, promotions, and campaigns to drive demand and share gains.
Experience developing product roadmaps and value-added services.
Financial acumen including experience delivering on category financials (P&L, cash flows, and balance sheet metrics) and development of business cases and financial forecasts.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize insights, business, and financial inputs into a compelling story for the appropriate audience (customers, executives, and commercial teams).
Effective at engagement and communication with peers, executives, customers, cross-functional teams, and external partners.
Experience working in a regulated industry.
