Nursing Assistant Student CICU
Who We Are :
The Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit (CICU) is a 47-bed unit with an average census of 46-47 patients. We have 149 employees on the unit, and we specialize in cardiac / telemetry, S / P catheter, pacer, ICD, stroke & seizure, GI bleed, sepsis, and med / surg overflow.
The CICU has Nurse to patient ratios of 1 : 4 and LNA to patient ratios of 1 : 10 depending on the census.
About the Job :
The Nursing Assistant Student, under general direction of the Clinical Nurse Manager and direct supervision of the RN is an integral member of the care delivery team by performing direct and indirect patient care through clinical tasks within the scope of student LNA practice and by providing personal care and emotional support.
What You’ll Do :
Activities of daily living
Report all observations, symptoms, deviations from normal, and changes in patient’s condition to RN
Provide basic support to patients and families
Documents in selected areas of the medical record as appropriate
Who You Are :
Enrolled in an LNA program. If the employee withdraws from the program the employee will no longer be eligible to remain in the LNA position.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
BLS authorization preferred or obtained within 90 days of date of hire. LNA license is required to be obtained within 60 days of completion of course.
If it is not obtained, the employee will no longer be eligible to remain in the LNA position.
