Schedule : This position is a part of the Nursing Management Team and will regularly work Monday through Friday with rotating on-call and Manager on Duty.
This position must be willing to work the floor as needed as well.

Role :
We are seeking a dedicated Director of Nursing to join our team! The Director of Nursing is responsible for planning, coordinating and managing the nursing function in the Continuing Care Retirement Community.
Responsibilities :
- Supervising all nursing staff and ensuring staff provides quality resident care that meets or exceeds regulatory standards.
- Oversees nursing department budget.
- Oversees and manages nurse leadership positions in the community.
- May assist with duties of other nurse leadership positions as needed.
- Assists with hiring and onboarding, training, development and retention of nursing staff.
- May be designated to assume responsibilities of daily operations of the facility in the Executive Director's absence.
- Communicates with physicians, residents, and family members regarding resident health and plan of care.
- Ensures nursing staff are trained on new policies and procedures.
- Participates in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings.
- Completes reports and audits in a timely manner.
- Ensures nursing documentation and assessments are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with community policies.
- Reviews restorative nursing procedures for each resident so as to achieve the highest possible degree of function, self-care, and independence based on resident choice, where practical, in collaboration with the MDS Coordinator.
- Oversees and participates in nursing on-call rotation.
- Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests.
Qualifications
Qualifications :
- The Director of Nursing Services (DON) must be a Registered Nurse from an accredited college, be currently licensed in the state* applying to without encumbrance, and be responsible for maintaining professional licensure and CEU requirements.
- Must have at least 3-5 of supervisory experience, preferably in a geriatric setting.
- Current CPR certification required.
