Description

SAIC is in need of a U.S. Navy Information Operations / Information Warfare (IO / IW) subject matter expert to facilitate IO / IW warfare training in a Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) training environment, as well as to provide technical advice and analysis on optimizing IO / IW training in the LVC environment.

The overall program goal is to provide advanced, high-level pre-deployment training to Carrier Strike Groups, Expeditionary Strike Groups, Amphibious Ready Groups / Marine Expeditionary Units and other military forces.

Place of performance is ONSITE in San Diego, CA with occasional travel to Fleet Concentration Areas. Work is in support of war games and integrated fleet training.

Must be able to travel up to 10% throughout the year.*

JOB DUTIES :

  • Support various technical customers with expertise in latest USN doctrine, tactics, and capabilities / limitations of all related systems for Information Warfare (IW), Electromagnetic Maneuver Warfare (EMW), and Information Operations (IO).
  • Work as part of a small team of IO / IW / EMW subject matter experts in development and execution of advanced military war games and other curricula as part of fleet training requirements for Carrier Strike Group and Expeditionary Strike Group Commanders and staffs, and subordinate Warfare Commanders and staffs, to include the Information Warfare Commander and staff.
  • Research, analyze, and incorporate latest aspects of IO / IW doctrine, tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs), and IO / IW / EMW systems into war game scenarios.

Develop necessary supporting products and documents as required for war games, such as OPTASK IO or other guiding documents.

Support training audience IO / IW / EMW planning efforts for war game scenarios. Facilitate presentation of computer-based war games by managing IO / IW / EMW scenario aspects during games, to include role-playing IO / IW / EMW entities and determining timing / method of scenario injects and flow.

Facilitate post-war game training analysis by gathering data and providing feedback to customer staff and training audience.

  • Support development of IW-into-LVC initiatives with expert advice on LVC capabilities, limitations, developments, and needs with respect to IO / IW training in an LVC environment.
  • Liaise with Navy centers of excellence on latest tactics, techniques and procedures for IO / IW / EMW, as well as technical developments for LVC.

Maintain currency on latest intelligence developments and TTP updates for IO / IW / EMW.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Bachelor’s degree and 20 years or more of USN warfare experience in planning, implementation and execution of IW / IO / EMW tactics, direction and employment of units, and coordination requirements between units, warfare commanders, subordinate units, higher headquarters, and joint and coalition units.
  • Must be a U.S Citizen.
  • Must have an Active TS / SCI before start.
  • Post-department tour on fleet, carrier strike, expeditionary strike group, or equivalent staff in IO / IW / EMW capacity.
  • In-depth knowledge of Information Warfare Commander duties, responsibilities and integration within the Composite Warfare Commander construct.
  • In-depth experience planning and executing emissions control, signature control, tactical situation assessments and other IO / IW / EMW actions.
  • Thorough knowledge of IO / IW systems, capabilities and limitations.
  • Experience translating training objectives into a comprehensive training exercise.

DESIRED SKILLS :

  • Experience with Fleet Synthetic Training or other distributed training preferred.
  • Experience with Live-Virtual-Constructive training initiatives preferred.
  • Experience as a VAQ / EA-18G Growler flight officer, with follow-on CSG staff experience in an IO capacity, desired.

Target salary range : $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
