The College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS) at Augusta University is seeking a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor that will provide anatomy related instruction for CAHS student within the departments of Medical Illustration, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant and Speech-Language Pathology.

Instruction consists of synchronous didactic lectures and human cadaver dissection lab instruction. The incumbent for this position will also advise, counsel, and remediate students as needed.

The person chosen for this position will participate in scholarship activities to include research, presentations, and publications and participate in service to the institution, college, and department by serving on committees at all levels.

This position is not considered to be on tenure track.

Responsibilities

Teaching

Course design and deliver use of online platform and other instructional technology. Student research mentoring. Academic advising.

Scholarship

Engage in scholarship / research program resulting in outcomes such as publications, professional presentations, and grant submissions.

Service

Participate in service within the department, collage, university and / or profession. Assume service leadership roles as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

Terminal doctoral degree with training and experience in teaching in graduate or health professional human anatomy including cadaver dissection.

Proficiency in written and oral communication skills for various audiences.

Evidence of effective teaching.

Experience in cadaver dissection.

Experience in teaching neuroanatomy.

Assistant Professor - Early level career as a faculty member

Associate Professor - Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.

Professor - Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.

Per Board of Regents (BOR) policy, Professors must have a terminal degree.

Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be :

  • Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;
  • Evidence of ability as a teacher;
  • Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;
  • Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,
  • Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.

Shift / Salary / Benefits

This position is fiscal year based and works year-round.

The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.

Assistant Professor - Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.

Associate Professor - Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.

Professor - Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
