Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be reachable on the appropriate Civil Service eligible list.
Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b / c service in a title designated as appropriate for transfer in accordance with Section 70.
1 of the Civil Service Law. Transfer eligible titles include but may not be limited to : Office Assistant 2, Office Assistant 2 Calculations, Office Assistant 2 Keyboarding.
Individuals certified eligible for the 55b / c program under the Governor’s Program to Hire Persons / Veterans with Disabilities pursuant to Section 55b / c of the Civil Service Law will also be considered.

Candidates must have a High school diploma or GED AND one year of full-time general office experience*.
- Qualifying experience : For the purposes of this examination, general office experience includes tasks such as preparing correspondence, reports, statements and other material;
- operating office equipment; answering telephones; verifying, recording and processing forms and documents such as contracts and requisitions;
and performing general clerical duties according to established procedures.
- Duties Description Under the direct supervision of the WC Examiner, the position of Assistant WC Examiner would encompass but not be limited to the following duties : Analyze work requests and information received from a variety of sources to update or correct information contained in hearing records;
- utilize CIS Calendaring function to create itinerary, enter calendar exceptions, and verify / adjust the proposed calendar as needed;
- schedule interpreters for hearings where they are required; process forms receiving in CIS incoming mail queue(s), making necessary updates to case folders or sending work requests as appropriate;
- respond to stakeholder inquiries received via telephone, electronically or work request by providing requested information in a timely and accurate manner;
perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
