job summary :
Manufacturer south of Kansas City is seeking a Plastics Process Engineer to add to their team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in engineering and experience with plastic injection molding in manufacturing.
Knowledge of tooling performance and equipment / processes required. Will relocate for the right candidate.
All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
responsibilities :
- Set the process standards for all operations in the production department to ensure quality and maximize profitability.
- Report to the Production Manager and work with process technicians
- Sample new molds, evaluate their performance, and make recommendations if improvements need to be
- made; Review part and tool designs to ensure optimal production.
- Establish initial injection molding processes for each mold to maximize performance and quality.
- Ensure that all production activities are concluded in a cost-effective manner, consistent with quality
- standards to control expenses and increase profitability.
- Prepare production and management reports
- Work with sales and production team to establish quotes on new and revised components
- Recommend changes and modifications to equipment, to improve efficiency and control costs.
- Provide technical support to the production floor
- Work with Process Engineering Technician and Production Supervisors on technical aspects of the
- production floor.
- Maintain robot programs.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar preferred, or equivalent combination of education or experience
- At least 3-5 years of experience in injection molding in manufacturing
- Tooling performance experience
- Process engineering experience in manufacturing
