Duties & Responsibilities
Research Coordination for the PASC RECOVER study, including :
- Supporting study activities through initial interpretation of the study protocol and informing study operation's.
- Obtain informed consent and ensure consent documentation for new study procedures / tests developed after initial enrollment.
- Schedule and prepare for research visits, performing physical assessments, ordering medical tests, and creating and filing adequate source documentation.
- Sample collection, including blood and urine.
- Phlebotomy : collect and process participant blood samples during visits.
- Data input and monitoring : Respond to data queries and monitoring reports. Responsible for timely and accurate reporting of study data and recording of tests completed to ensure appropriate research payments and billing.
- Provide support to the study team as needed
- Study visit : preparation of study kits and source documents.
- Coordinate participant retention and follow-up in the RECOVER study and other COVID-19 related research projects following the IRB-approved study protocol.
- Utilize multiple modalities for participant communication, including telephone calls, emails, and community outreach.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with federal regulations, University policies, and sponsor expectations for human subjects research.
- Responsible for continuing education relevant to their role.
- Maintain current human subject research training, attending COVID Grand rounds and other relevant educational seminars, and professional development in clinical research operations.
- Assist with the training of Level I coordinators.
- Contribute to process improvement efforts.
- Identify solutions to everyday challenges, or participating in a process improvement project.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) :
- Knowledge of ethics and regulations for human subjects research.
- Strong interpersonal skills and bedside manner when working with participants.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive health information.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- Three (3) years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 3 years of clinical research experience.
- Experience as a Research Coordinator.
- Experience with Phlebotomy.
