Position Information
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering Technology (CSET) at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) is currently accepting resumes for adjuncts in the area of Computer Science.
Candidates with expertise in the areas of Computer Science or Applied Computer Science are particularly encouraged to apply.
Resumes will be reviewed as needed for each semester. Responsibilities
- Develop and teach introductory and advanced courses in Computer Science,including, but not limited to, Programming with different languages, Computer Organization, Computer Architecture, Operating Systems, Computer Language Theory, Algorithms and Data Structures, etc.
- Based on the needs of the Department, other courses may also be assigned depending upon candidates’ area of specialization.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Classification 25- Education, Training, and Library Occupations Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Engineering or a closely related field.
A Bachelor’s degree with (certifications or licensure) and at least 5 years of industry experience attesting to your expertise will be considered.
- Candidates with expertise in the area of Computer Science or Applied Computer Science are needed in particular due to the immediate needs of the department.
- Must have computer and critical thinking abilities, and presentation skills.
- A commitment in undergraduate teaching and student mentorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or Doctorate degree in the mentioned areas.

- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively and collegially with faculty and staff in the department and university and with students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and
- socioeconomic backgrounds.
