Summary

The Division Controller will be responsible for coordinating, administering and controlling the financial operation of the division, assist in the development and standardization of accounting systems and internal controls and in implementing sound financial policies, practices and procedures that safeguard the Company’s assets and support the strategic goals and objectives of the business, while maintaining the integrity of the accounting function.

The successful candidate will be committed to the highest level of integrity, trust and responsibility; bring a hands-on approach to day-to-day operations, and exhibit strong analytical, leadership, planning, teamwork and management skills.

There is the potential for growth of supporting another division’s operations once competency in this role is achieved.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide effective management and operation of the accounting department and to maintain and safeguard the basic systems that provide essential financial information.
  • Supervise payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable (including credit terms), budgetary preparation and monitoring, and preparation of reports and analyses as requested by the Division Manager and the Corporate Controller.
  • Manage the accuracy of the costing system and control controls, including shop floor reporting.
  • Maintain the General Ledger and subsidiary records to ensure accurate financial data and the timely preparation of financial reports.
  • Develop and maintain accounting systems that facilitate and integrate the company’s cost accounting, general accounting, fixed asset and budgetary activities and that support the strategic goals and objectives of the business.
  • Maintain a planning and budgeting system that provides sound financial projections for corporate management’s use in planning future business strategies.
  • Plan and implement internal controls and sound financial practices for the reliability of financial information and in order to safeguard the Company’s assets and protect the Company from fraud and misappropriation of funds.
  • Compliance with established policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct, and adherence to state and federal regulations, including the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
  • Responsible for Divisional finance initiatives and to lead efforts regarding the development of accurate cost standards, profitability analysis (including by part), accurate inventory counts and records, and coordination of the capital appropriations approval process.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement ideas in the finance department.
  • Responsible for developing and submitting accurate and timely reporting in accordance with the Company’s financial review cycle, any annual or other audits conducted by the Company or third parties, or any regulatory or agency reporting.
  • Participate in quarterly operational review & management meetings.
  • Educate and work with divisional personnel to understand and implement better financial

planning, forecasting, and control over resources.

  • Assist in the preparation of the Division’s long range strategic and annual business plans.
  • Provide financial support for major Company-wide projects.
  • Perform cash disbursements in accordance with Company policy as approved in writing by the Division Manager and Corporate Controller prior to any disbursements.
  • Regular and punctual attendance at work.
  • Occasional travel and use of personal car on Division business may be required.

Qualifications, Education and Experience

  • Certified Public Accountant and / or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 7 10 years of experience, at least 7 years of which is in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of general accounting systems, budgetary methods, and internal and external reporting.
  • Complete understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, costing, business concepts and operations as it relates to finances.
  • Advanced knowledge of payroll, accounting and ERP systems and applications.
  • Expert level MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, OneNote).
