Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Location : Cartersville, GA

Our client is a highly reputable international manufacturer specializing in the production of large metal automotive components.

They are currently seeking an experienced supplier quality engineer with the following qualifications :

Summary / Objective

This role is responsible for maintaining and improving the Quality System, production processes, and overall product quality within the company and with suppliers.

Essential Functions

• Execute quality planning, including APQP and initial sampling.
• Coordinate with suppliers for PPAP approval, conduct audits, issue reclamations, and handle charge backs.
• Examine laboratory and measurement reports, and initiate appropriate measures.
• Prepare for and supervise customer audits, ensuring timely closure.
• Implement and monitor countermeasures to address quality issues.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, standards, and specifications.
• Create necessary inspection documents for auditors.
• Oversee customer and supplier visits.
• Participate in and manage quality and customer projects.
• Conduct internal audits to evaluate compliance.
• Implement and monitor engineering change processes.
• Verify tool, process, and gauge buy offs.
• Submit PPAP documentation to customers.
• Contribute to FMEA, Control Plans, Process Flows, and other process documentation.

Competencies

• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Proficiency in written and spoken German (preferred but not required).
• Proficiency in written and spoken Spanish (preferred but not required).

Job Description

Travel

Occasional domestic and international travel.

Required Education and Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Automotive Industry.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Quality related field.
• Experience in GD & T.
• Auditing experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with CATIA / CAD or similar software.
