Director of Marketing & Communications

Adopt A Class is seeking a Marketing & Communications Director who will take the AAC brand to the next level. This position is responsible for deploying tactics that will enable us to reach our goals for marketing and communications within defined target audiences.

The Director of Marketing & Communications will develop and implement all marketing efforts to support the mission and vision of Adopt A Class.

This role will manage one direct report along with our contracted PR and marketing vendors.

Adopt A Class has a vision of a Greater Cincinnati where all students have access to caring adults who expose them to a breadth of life and career experiences so they can unleash their full potential.

Through our mission, AAC connects businesses, local government, and civic groups with students at schools in our underserved communities.

By pairing teams with individual classrooms, our adult mentors expose the students to a breadth of experiences and training to be job and career ready.

Once paired, mentor teams stay with the same teacher, thus having the opportunity to impact a new class of students; while students move on to a new grade level and experience a new mentor team with different career and life skills insight.

Job Type : Full-Time

Essential Job Responsibilities :

  • Develops and implements marketing and communication plans and strategies, including public relations, media relations, social media presence, online giving, digital marketing.
  • Manages the development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic materials, social media marketing, newsletters, fundraising campaigns, event communications, presentations, speeches, and more.
  • Leads creative direction on marketing campaigns and deliverables for print and digital media.
  • Creates and implements content calendar.
  • Collaborates with internal departments to ensure that key initiatives and programs are accurately and effectively communicated.
  • Designs and creates all marketing collateral.
  • Maintains, updates and enhances the content and copy of the AAC website.
  • Analyzes and extracts data from our Mentor Tracker for use in marketing and promotional materials.
  • Strategically grows AAC’s social media presence among the corporate community and cultivates interpersonal relationships with partners and influencers to further marketing efforts.
  • Stays informed of developments in the fields of marketing, communications, public relations, nonprofits, and mentoring to contribute to organizational initiatives and innovations.
  • Other duties as assigned, including occasional evening or weekend events.

Required Qualifications :

  • 4-year degree in Marketing, Communications, or similar education with 6+ years professional experience or 10+ relevant experience.
  • Flexible demeanor and comfortable working with changing priorities.
  • Strong organization and collaborative skills.
  • Has a personal vehicle, valid driver’s license, and current insurance.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Constant Contact.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or CRM similar systems.
  • Passionate about our Adopt A Class mission.
  • Excitement about working with diverse populations.
  • Ability to handle multiple project assignments.

Compensation & Benefits :

  • Qualified candidates will earn between $60,000 and $68,000 + potential for annual bonus.
  • Eligible to participate in Adopt A Class benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and retirement benefits.

  • Will receive mileage reimbursement as well as cell phone stipend.
