We are looking for an individual who is comfortable digging into the technical issues that are shaping the future of data-driven digital marketing.
Associate Editor (Reporter) responsibilities include :
- Daily news reporting covering the world of programmatic and ad tech
- Feature writing and desire to write incisive, investigative and / or technical pieces. Our writers use their deep technical expertise and wide array of sources to communicate the drama and challenges around new technology and its path to maturity.
We also educate our readers, helping them to do their jobs better through the intelligence and instruction they receive from our stories.
- Writing content for AdExchanger’s daily newsletter.
- Participating in AdExchanger’s weekly roundtable podcast The Big Story.
- Brainstorming session topics for AdExchanger’s live events and eventually participating with an on-stage presence.
- Cultivating a network of insider sources who will contribute to AdExchanger’s singular brand of wide and deep industry coverage.
Note : The Associate Editor role does not involve editing other writers’ stories, but is 100% reporting and writing stories yourself.
Skills to be successful as an Associate Editor :
- Curious personality with a drive to learn, a hunger to figure things out and the ability to find your footing even when initially out of your depth
- B2B journalism or tech journalism experience helpful (though not required).
- Proven ability to cultivate sources and generate original story ideas
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating with colleagues on daily news calls and during weekly editorial planning discussions
- Familiarity with digital advertising and marketing industries preferred. Experience working in digital marketing a bonus.
- 3 + years of reporting experience (but apply even if you do not have this exact experience).
Preferred candidates in NYC area who will be able to be Hybrid, onsite 1x / week in NYC.
