Summary Description
The Area Supervisor role is responsible for operating multiple Papa Murphy store locations by effectively leading our incredible crew and creating an unwavering commitment to an incredible in-store guest experience.
The Area Supervisor is also responsible for continually promoting a culture across all stores that embraces the company's core values of Quality, Service, Integrity, and Teamwork.
To successfully perform the Area Supervisor role an individual must be able to accomplish the following, but not limited to, duties and responsibilities :
Duties and Responsibilities
- Hire new Store Managers using targeted selection process / behavioral interviewing techniques.
- Create and foster a culture of upward development of team members.
- Train and develop Multi-Unit Managers, Store Managers, and Assistant Store Managers to run stores efficiently and profitably.
- Ensure Multi-Unit Managers, Store Managers, and Assistant Store Managers are using the proper training procedures.
- Assign and coordinate work to Multi-Unit Managers and Store Managers to promote efficiency of operations, optimum food and labor costs, and maintain fair and consistent treatment of team members.
- Use store visitation reports to check and improve operational levels within the stores ensuring that Papa Murphy's standards for operations are met.
- Inspect all prep areas, equipment, and utensils to ensure sanitary standards are met in accordance with company and local health department standards.
- Review and confirm the accuracy Multi-Unit Managers and Store Managers reports used to track metrics including food cost, waste, sales, inventory and crew hours worked.
- Monitor cash procedures in the stores and ensure accuracy of bank deposits, cash drawers and hold managers accountable for cash variances.
- Hold Store Managers accountable for tracking and reconciling all promotion, coupons and gift certificates, and balancing them with daily sales reports.
- Ensure Store Managers prepare and post the weekly schedules for store personnel at least one week in advance.
- Ensure all stores comply with Federal, State and Local labor laws.
- Evaluate work performance of Multi-Unit Managers and Store Managers, conduct performance evaluations, and handle corrective disciplinary action of Store Managers.
- Create sales building plans and local store marketing (LSM) activities for the market.
- Exhibit the utmost professionalism and maintain total customer satisfaction while training store personnel to do the same.
- Take the lead in opening new stores.
Required Qualifications
Education :
Bachelor's Degree preferred. High school diploma or general education degree (GEG) required.
Experience :
5-7 years supervisory experience, prior QSR multi-unit experience.
Degrees, Licensure, and / or Certification :
ServSafe certification required.
Must be able to pass criminal background check.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Must demonstrate integrity, honesty, and strong leadership.
Must be able to effectively manage all subordinate employees.
Ability to communicate effectively before groups inside and outside of the organization both verbally and in writing.
Requires excellent customer service skills and ability to manage various difficult or emotional customer situations; respond promptly to customer needs;
solicit customer feedback to improve service; and respond to requests for service and assistance with ease.
Requires basic computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and POS.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Knowledge of store financials, P & L's, break-even analysis, food cost analysis, labor cost analysis and other financial information relative to store operations.
Demonstrated ability to complete work on-time on a timely basis.
