The Service and Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Service Manager of North America. The Service and Maintenance Technician is recognized as an expert in troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and service of automated material handling systems (MHS) including palletizing, depalletizing, and conveying across North America.

Your role in our team
- You will manage all inspections, maintenance, repair, service, machinery optimizations, troubleshooting, and diagnostic testing at the customer's facility for MHS across North America.
- You will resolve MHS performance issues through analytical reasoning.
- You will perform service assignment preparation and writing of detailed service reports.
- You will conduct service technician and customer training.
- You will control the KSC NA Service tooling inventory to ensure it is adequate and in good working order.
- In collaboration with the service manager, you will collect and report information on customers’ installed base and needs for service, spare parts, modernization / optimization, and training.
- You will perform internal and external interface communication.
- You will assist the service manager in developing work instructions.
- You will execute extraordinary and additional tasks as required for business.
- You will actively contribute to the growth of the organization.
- You will execute knowledge transfer and training of local staff according to the Körber company product portfolio, processes, and know-how.
- You will set up and implement standard procedures.
Your profile
- You have obtained certified training or a degree in the electrical and / or mechanical field.
- You have advanced knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
- You have gained a minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience in MHS or a related field.
- You have experience troubleshooting and programming Rockwell and Siemens programmable logic controllers.
- You have the ability and willingness to travel within North America (75%) plus occasional extended trips to Europe with short notice.
- You can upload new software and configure frequency inverters.
- You can train other KSC NA technicians as well as customers.
- You can continuously learn systematically and methodically with the ability to accept feedback.
- You can work effectively in both independent and team environments.
- You can work in a multicultural environment.
- You have previous knowledge and experience managing client relationships and a strong customer service focus.
- You have strong and persuasive verbal and written communication skills.
- You have the willingness to work on duty after office hours (breakdown assignments).
- You will comply with the Körber Code of Conduct and Business Ethics.
- You have a valid driver’s license and passport.
- You have valid work-related certificates (such as safe work, H&S compliance, etc).
- You have a good command of MS Office applications.
- You have the willingness to have a background check performed and a drug test.
