As the Assistant Director of Recruitment with a focus on Access, you will be responsible for executing a comprehensive recruitment plan for the Office of Admissions primarily focused on recruiting first year and transfer students with traditionally underrepresented backgrounds, identities, and experiences.
You will serve as an engaged leader to a team of professional staff members and model the performance we expect.You will provide leadership for these efforts and are tasked with advancing ideas aligned with Colorado State Universitys Land-Grant mission and the Principles of Community.
This position is ideal for professionals looking to grow in a supervisory role, engage in inclusive business strategy, develop an effective recruitment strategy for access, and use previous experience to meet the needs of our students and develop new markets.
This position reports directly to the Director of Recruitment and will also participate in foundational admissions and enrollment management-related activities.
This position will be based either on campus in Fort Collins, CO or at CSU Spur Campus in Denver, CO. Required Job Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree

- Three years of previous admission, college counseling, higher education, or other relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience giving presentations to groups of various sizes
- Able to work irregular work hours, including nights and weekends
- Must have a valid drivers license or the ability to obtain a drivers license or access to a licensed driver by the position start date.
- Direct supervisory experience, including staff development and training
- Experience utilizing data for assessment purposes
- Experience working with and serving the needs of underrepresented communities

- Develop and implement a comprehensive accessible recruitment strategy for the Office of Admissions, leveraging the use of data in its creation, to determine success, and to identify areas for improvement
- Facilitate collaboration and outreach to targeted geo-markets and schools, community-based organizations, professional organizations, and communities through intentional relationship building and involvement
- Make recommendations to wider Recruitment and Marketing and Communications teams to develop strategies for building connections between targeted groups and CSUs world-class education opportunities
- Build connections with campus partners to collaborate in creating access to education through our Land-Grant mission and with the lens of Principles of Community
- Collaborate with Office of Inclusive Excellence and the Director of Recruitment to execute trainings and development related to strengthening cultural competencies for Recruitment Team
- Support the Director of Recruitment with special projects, including market identification and development

- Manage a geographic recruitment territory and conduct intentional engagement with prospective students, families, and communities within the assigned territory.
- Plan and execute year-round recruitment travel, representing CSU at events such as high school visits, college fairs, one-on-one appointments, information sessions, and other recruitment events.
