This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a product launch focused on innovative treatments for rare diseases with significant unmet needs.
In this role, you will join a small, dynamic sales team dedicated to establishing and growing a Rare Disease Franchise in the US.
As a Rare Disease Clinical Science Specialist, you will be responsible for achieving or exceeding regional performance targets in the Sacramento, CA area while contributing to the overall success of the sales team.
Your focus will be on developing long-term, sustainable accounts to encourage appropriate use of the products and to drive sales growth over time.
You will engage with healthcare professionals to provide balanced and accurate information about the treatments.
Your territory will primarily encompass Sacramento, Santa Rosa, Stockton, Redding, Reno, NV, and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities & Job Expectations
- Achieve or exceed objectives related to assigned products, including sales and key performance indicators.
- Navigate complex organizations, including integrated networks, hospitals, and healthcare communities, professionally and effectively.
- Manage your territory and customer accounts efficiently, prioritizing key accounts and utilizing resources wisely.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with customers, focusing on the best interests of patients and adhering to company policies.
- Engage in in-depth discussions with healthcare professionals based on approved resources and messaging.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members to identify and address customer needs promptly.
- Analyze market and customer data to support strategic planning and execution.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees such as MBA, MSc, or Nursing are a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in life sciences, including at least 5 years in rare or specialty areas, and a minimum of 3 years in specialty biopharma sales.
- Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong understanding of the payer and clinical landscape, particularly in specialty and rare diseases.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-centricity, showing empathy and support for patients.
- Excellent presentation, organization, administrative, and written communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of the market, disease areas, and products.
- Ability to travel within the territory, including overnight stays when necessary.
