Primary Purpose
Lead in strategizing and managing MDM, Privacy and Retention implementations across multiple domains; liaise with Data Services, Governance and Data Quality.
Define and develop roadmap for MDM, business operation, third party data analysis and management, including resourcing and budget.
Accountable for master data and reference data build approach and processes; guide adoption of industry standard practices to develop policies guidelines tools metrics and standards for managing master data.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead Engineers in that design and develop Master Data Management (MDM) solutions including MDM strategy, governance strategy, data profiling, data quality and MDM architecture.
- Demonstrates proven success in roles leading requirements and design sessions, configure the modules, and lead a team to integrate the solutions and migrate data.
- Oversee MDM applications : Customer, Product, Location, or Vendor with multiple full-lifecycle implementation projects.
- Develop overall master data strategy for a portfolio of programs. This will require solving some fundamental and highly challenging issues in terms of what data to capture and how to integrate the data between the business functions, and how to organize it for maximum leverage;
what tools and technologies we should deploy; and how we define data governance.
- Guide application designers to integrate MDM into the various workflows. Utilizing data warehousing, analytics systems to make sure that master data is leveraged appropriately.
- Lead backend engineering implementations that support Consumer Privacy Programs and Retention policies.
- Strong working knowledge of integration tools like MuleSoft and Stibo STEP and IBM Infosphere MDM tools.
- Experience creating data workflows and process flow diagrams, business or technical requirements documents, and product support documents.
- Participate in meetings with both technology and business teams to facilitate the understanding, clarification, and implementation of data requirements.
- Engage with SAFe Agile teams to set a product roadmap and delivery options that meet stakeholder requirements.
- Constructing and delivering written reports of the findings in a variety of formats (reports, PPT, including visualization of data and findings), formulating recommendations, and effectively presenting the results.
- Communicating complex technical subjects to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Prepares the capital and operating budgets for the cost center and analyzes interdepartmental reports as they relate to the cost center.
Achieves cost center projections through labor expense and administrative expense controls.
- Build and lead a best-in-class team and facilitate their success in maintaining and improving the confidence of internal and external constituencies.
- Lead and inspire IT teams to develop and establish a high performing, service driven culture committed to failing fast, leaning out waste and delivering business value.
- Develop leaders and team members for building a pipeline of succession; provide ongoing feedback and coaching related to performance;
prioritizing associate engagement and being a champion for diversity.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science or related work experience.
- 10+ years of experience in Master Data Management and / or Data Engineering.
- 5+ years’ experience in a leadership role.
- Proven ability to develop relationships with all key stakeholders, cultivates network proactively, builds and maintains trust, credibility, and goodwill.
- Strong understanding of project implementations, project structure and life-cycle and best practice standards and tools.
- Ability to think outside of the box to leverage creativity / innovation as needed for problem resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and associates at all levels, both verbal and written.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Deep knowledge of Agile methodology (SAFe preferred) and experience leading Agile delivery.
- Engineering experience with Cloud applications and SaaS solutions is a plus.
- Customer focused and Solutions Oriented mindset.
- Ability to lead technical discussions with other Engineering Leaders, Solutions and Enterprise Architects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Technology or Business preferred.
- 5 years’ experience in retail.
- 7 years technical coaching experience (formal or unformal) preferred.
- Knowledge of Stibo Step and IBM Infosphere MDM solutions is preferred.
- Experience with Data Governance processes and their application to data products.
- Understanding of privacy laws like GDPR, VCDPA, CCPA etc.
- Certification in Cloud (Preferably Azure).
