The Vice President of Enterprise Architecture and Platform Strategy is the leader that will shape and drive the system architecture and software engineering practice across Tyson Foods.

This leader will partner across IT, business, customers, and vendors to ensure technology solutions are pragmatic; enabling new business capabilities that drive shareholder value.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background across technology (Network / Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Data Management, Data Science, Enterprise / Solution Architecture, Development, and Testing) and demonstrate a strong aptitude for applying emerging technologies in a Fast Follower’ approach to create significant business outcomes.
Job Purpose :
Develop and execute a forward-thinking IT architecture strategy that incorporates emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, blockchain, edge computing, and quantum computing.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the enterprise architecture strategy aligned with the company’s business goals and objectives.
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and robust technology platforms that focus on enterprise solutions with a sustainable cost structure.
- Collaborate to identify technology initiatives with meaningful business value.
- Excellence in translating technical vision into business actions for the Executive Leadership Team and Tyson Board of Directors.
Enterprise Architecture
- Oversee development and maintenance of the enterprise architecture framework, ensure alignment with industry best practices and adherence to standards.
- Ensure integration and interoperability of various technology systems and platforms to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable software architectures.
- Establish and enforce architectural standards, best practices, and governance across the organization.
Technology Platforms
- Lead the selection, implementation, and management of technology platforms that drives a minimalist approach that streamlines the selected platforms and ensures technology investments leads to adoption of features and functionalities.
- Partner with the Infrastructure and Cybersecurity organizations to ensure platforms are scalable, secure, and capable of supporting future business needs.
- Drive innovation by leveraging emerging technologies and trends to enhance platform capabilities and deliver tangible financial benefits to the business.
Innovation and Emerging Technology
- Identify, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies that have the potential to drive business value.
- Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging teams to experiment and adopt modern technologies that drive continuous improvements.
- Collaborate with external partners, startups, and academic institutions to stay ahead of technological trends.
- Drive adoption of DevOps practices and tools to improve software development and deployment processes.
- Oversee the design and implementation of cloud-native architectures, microservices, and containerization strategies.

- Build and lead a high performing team of architects, engineers, and technology professionals that demonstrate a focus on "controlling the controllables" and "executing with excellence".

- Establish and enforce technology governance policies and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Qualifications
Experience : 15+ years of experience in IT leadership roles, with a strong focus on enterprise architecture, software engineering, and emerging technologies.
- Education : Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or engineering related field.
- Proven record of accomplishment leading successful technology programs.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Experience with IT governance frameworks and industry best practices.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
