SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS :
The Quality Manager oversees all activities and staff of our quality department. The position is responsible to develop, implement and maintain a quality system for the local Schuler operation.
The operation includes (a) the production of automotive components and (b) the manufacturing of production equipment.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Develop and implement quality control processes, procedures, and policies to ensure that our products and services meet customer expectations.
- Monitor and analyze data related to quality and identify trends,
- Lead, manage and train team members on quality control processes, provide guidance and coaching.
- Communicate with the other departments, and with management to ensure that quality control processes are aligned with business objectives.
- Perform quality audits, identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for corrective action.
- Work with our suppliers and vendors to ensure that purchased components meet the quality standard.
- Manage and maintain quality control documentation, ensuring that all necessary records and reports are accurate and up-to-date.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices related to quality control, sharing knowledge and insights with team members.
REQUIREMENTS :
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality or Mechanical Engineering
- Five years of experience in related field required
- Good knowledge of mechanical engineering and machine components.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Strong working knowledge of quality systems, processes and problem solving tools such as APQP, SPC, 8D, Six Sigma, process development and improvement plans.
- Ability to read and understand product specifications and blueprints.
- Able to use inspection gages such as micrometers, calipers and indicators,
- Able to analyze data and present and create reports.
- Able to support organization’s Quality Management systems in line with standards.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
- Fluent in English with advanced reading and writing skills
- German and / or Portuguese Language skills would be a plus.
- Visa holders / English as Second Language (ESL) individuals must take TOEFL exam and score above passing grade.
