Overview
A busy and private family in downtown NYC is seeking a career nanny / family assistant to join their team. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, from 6 : 30am until 6pm.
The position is generally live-out, but the candidate must be able to travel during the summer when needed and will be required to live-in during that time.
The family will occasionally need the flexibility to stay late / stay over (1x / month).
Responsibilities
- Duties for this position include all aspects of care for three children, under 10;
- Acting as the primary caregiver for the children
- Responsible for or arranging all drop off and pick ups
- Help find and manage a number of babysitters / part-time help for the older kids
- Help finding additional people as their schedules change often
- In charge of managing logistics for the older kids - that will include scheduling classes and arranging the right help to pick them up, take them to their activities, etc.
- Manage a house-cleaner and also organize the house- be in charge of ordering things the house needs (groceries, supplies, clothes for the kids, etc)
- Between housecleaner visits, keep the house in order and tidy.
- Engage actively in the kids' education (sit and help with the older two's homework and actively plan educational activities and excursions for them)
- Arrange play-dates, etc for all three children
- Help with travel plans and the logistics associated with them (packing, ordering supplies, etc) for two vacations and for when the family is at their second home
- Cooking for the children
- Laundry for the children, and occasionally the household
Qualifications
- Proactive
- Pays attention to details
- Very attuned to my children's needs and can engage with them educationally
- Ideally drives, though this is not a requirement
Requirements
- Needs to be able to receive feedback constructively
- Needs to work well with others, as there will be a variety of babysitters, etc
- Has to be able to get around the city easily and comfortably in taking public transportation and ubers
- the nanny must be fully COVID-vaccinated
Salary and Benefits
A competitive salary is being offered ranging from $35-$45 plus a health care stipend
