One of our clients is currently seeking a Junior GIS Analyst with a minimum of 2 years of experience for day-to-day support of our business development, field projects, and land contracts teams.
The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in ESRI products and GIS tools, with a proven track record of effectively managing data and project workflows. Role : Junior GIS Analyst

Location : Houston, TX - Onsite Industry : Oil & Gas W2 only Key Responsibilities :
- Maintain data within SDE databases.
- Create ad-hoc and presentation-quality maps for internal and external stakeholders.
- Work with third-party vendor files to update company As-built pipeline projects for business development and field engineering.
- Read and interpret land contracts, agreements, Surveys, and legal descriptions for right-of-way and acreage layer updates.
- Collaborate with multiple business units to gather and analyze spatial data for decision-making.
- Implement best practices in choosing appropriate symbology and design practices for map creation.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables effectively.
- Utilize 3rd party GIS data sources to enhance project outcomes.
- Utilize Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Conduct data cleaning and quality assurance processes to maintain data integrity.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Environmental Science, or related field plus 2 years of experience in a similar role within the oil and gas industry, preferably in the midstream sector.
- Associate’s degree in Geography, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Environmental Science, or related field plus 4 years of experience in a similar role within the oil and gas industry, preferably in the midstream sector.
- Proficiency in ESRI products ArcMap 10.x, ArcPro 3.x, AcrCatalog and ArcToolbox.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data accuracy and quality.
- Experience with KMZ file conversion and Geo-Referencing.
- Experience with land contracts and right-of-way agreements (preferred).
- Read and interpret contracts related to land agreements and right of way for acreage layer updates.
- Familiarity with ETL processes (preferred).
