Job Title : Lead Java Developer

USCS’s is a leading provider of 3 party logistics solutions.The Center of Digital Excellence or CoDE is the technology arm of USCS, and we are on a mission to deliver custom software solutions to enable the efficient automated operations at our cold storage facilities.

Our next generation warehouse management system directs effective operations at our facilities, interfaces with control systems of autonomous vehicles and autonomous storage / retrieval systems, automates electronic transactions with our partners, and interfaces with off-the-shelf transportation and labor management systems.

The Job Details :

We are looking for a Lead Java Software Engineer with extensive experience building performant, scalable, reliable and testable software solutions as key part of the CoDE engineering team.

You are expected to mix strong development skills with team leadership and project management. You will work with onshore and near-shore developers in an Agile Scrum model delivering modern, hybrid cloud applications.

You will report to the Sr. Software Development Manager in this role.

Some of the things expected from you include the following :

• Extensive experience in team leadership, project management, task management and delivery
• Extensive experience promoting and working with API driven development and test driven development
• Experience with modern software architecture : event streaming, microservices, hybrid-cloud
• Hands on experience in design, coding, testing, deploying and maintaining systems
• Experience with modern software delivery : infrastructure as code, CI / CD
• Experience with various back-end & front-end frameworks : Spring, Angular, Hibernate
• Experience working effectively with remote and internal development teams

Qualifications : Education

Education

BS / MS degree in Computer Science or a related subjects

Experience

• Proven hands-on Software Development experience, 10+ years
• Proven experience in Java and Web development technologies, 5+ years
• Proven team leadership experience including mentorship and task management
• Proven project management experience including scoping, requirements gathering and project delivery
• Profound insight of Java internals (Classloading, Memory Management, Transaction management etc.)
• Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, Oracle, SQL and ORM technologies (Hibernate, iBatis)
• Working experience with Java application servers
• Experience with containers, and cloud operating environments (AWS, Azure, OCI) OCI is a plus
• Experience with Maven, Git and GitHub
• Experience with Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira)
• Working knowledge of C++ programming in Unix / Linux environment
• Experience in Supply Chain Logistics is a plus
• Experience in development of Warehouse Management systems is a plus
• Experience interfacing with autonomous control system is a plus
