POSITION SUMMARY :
To increase parent and community involvement and communication in school by working with the school’s administration and utilizing community resources to create a supportive environment for the students to excel in their education.
WHAT YOU WILL DO :
- Design and implement an outreach plan to engage families in campus and community activities.
- Plan, coordinate, and support community and school activities aligned with the outreach plan.
- Identify and engage community action groups and influential figures.
- Support senior management’s efforts to involve parents and stakeholders according to school goals.
- Maintain confidentiality and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills (bilingual in Spanish preferred).
- Analyze data to identify trends and problem areas.
- Demonstrate strong public speaking, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Possess excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, networking, and engagement skills.
- Understand family engagement research and respect diverse backgrounds.
- Host parent meetings in the community and be familiar with the public school system.
- Conduct home visits, travel, and work flexible hours as needed.
- Develop necessary computer skills for essential tasks.
- Execute local marketing activities, awareness campaigns, and events.
- Provide engagement insights and recommendations to senior management and school leadership.
- Develop community outreach presentations for engagement opportunities.
- Contribute content for press releases and local media features.
- Track and maintain participation and engagement data for parents and community members.
- Build positive relationships with school leadership and staff.
- Create a welcoming Parent Resource Area to foster school-community relationships.
- Develop community connections to enhance outreach and build resources for parents and students.
- Deliver programs to boost parent involvement, promoting school success and networking.
- Collaborate with school personnel to align goals, objectives, and services.
- Coordinate educational programs to support student achievement and home-school partnerships.
- Develop relationships with parents to engage them in supporting student and staff success.
- Overcome language barriers at events and during visits.
- Conduct home visits and calls to assess parent needs.
- Create programs for new parents and students to encourage their involvement.
- Prepare documents to record activities and communicate information.
- Engage in quality improvement processes and facilitate group dynamics.
- Arrive at work on time, ready to work.

- Work collaboratively in teams, take direction from supervisors, and adhere to the agency’s core values and mission.
Location : 1060 US Hwy 17 South, Bartow, FL 33830Requirements :
WHAT YOU NEED :
Bachelor’s degree in education or a human service-related field. Minimum of 3 years of combined experience in at least 2 of the following specialties : education, human services, and / or community outreach.
Demonstrated progressive responsibility increases in area of specialization. Presently or formerly a public-school parent.
Valid Florida driver’s license within 30 days of hire. Experience serving as an advocate for children and / or parents. Experience with building community relationships.
Experience convening workshops. Experience working with families on educational or community issues.
Physical Requirements : Ability to travel statewide on a regular basis; ability to bend, lift, and carry 30 pounds.
