GILBANE has an immediate opportunity for a Sr Project Engineer in Connecticut .

Gilbane is seeking a Senior Project Engineer that will partner with the Project Manager in establishing, distributing, routing plans and ensuring all information is being distributed properly both internally and externally.

This role will sit primarily on the job site, with occasional travel to the office for trainings, meetings, etc.

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work in a technical role leading the RFI process and managing cost and project schedules.

Traditionally, Senior Project Engineers are promoted to Project Manager I after they have mastered the skills necessary to successfully lead a project from preconstruction to ribbon cutting.

In addition, Senior Project Engineer's work under the direction of experienced Project Managers and Project Executives on each job site which provides you with opportunity to learn new industry skills every day.

You will protect and promote the interests of both Gilbane and the client in all matters as well as demonstrating the personal characteristics of a developing leader.

Responsibilities

Manage RFI process

  • Prepare front end documents
  • Expedite material deliveries
  • Estimate and process change orders
  • Prepare monthly pay request and prepare shop drawings
  • Establish and manage schedule, cost and control procedures
  • Become familiar with contracts, general conditions and flow down language
  • Perform constructability and coordination reviews
  • Write scopes of work for all bid packages; assist with bid openings and bid tabulations
  • Negotiate changes with trades and owners; manage same process
  • Assume responsibility for jobsite safety
  • Provide job site orientation
  • Facilitate project meetings

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION

  • BS OR MS degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • 8 or more years with CM / General Contractor Organization working on large ($70-$120 mm) construction project
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Financial Management familiarity
  • OSHA 10-Hour Certified
  • MEP Knowledge
  • Understanding of Contract Document & Specifications
  • Proficient in Procore
  • Expertise in CMiC preferred

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

For Connecticut this ranges from $91,100.00-$125,300.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
