New York Port Authority seeks Violations Data Analyst The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) Tunnels, Bridges & Terminals Department"s Revenue Collection Group is responsible for collecting all revenues owed to The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for vehicular travel across our bridges and tunnels, through various tolls, fees and penalties.
This group supports PANYNJ"s financial policy and service performance standards for the EZPass Customer Service Center. To help facilitate these efforts the Tunnels, Bridges & Terminals Department"s Revenue Collection Group is seeking a Violations Data Analyst to assist with various aspects of data analysis and reporting, violations processing, and payment processing.
These tasks require a data analyst who has both technical and analytical experience to retrieve data from databases, conduct analysis, assess trends, and provide detailed and summary reports to senior management.
ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Supervisor of the Revenue Control Systems for E-ZPass Operations, the selected candidate will support the toll collection program with specific responsibilities for assisting in toll violations recovery and analyzing and reporting on accounts assigned to the Agency"s outside counsel, the New York State Department of Motor Vehicle (NY DMV) vehicle suspension program, and the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles reciprocity agreement.
The selected candidate will be responsible for the following activities : -Run SQL queries, conduct research and analyses, and communicate findings with various levels of staff within the Port Authority and external agencies-Process monthly violation payments and produce ad-hoc data extracts and reports-Develop expertise with and enhance the department"s custom applications and solutions-Utilize workflows to start and track approvals of business processes-Conduct research of violation accounts using custom reporting systems -Documenting new or revised processes-Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position : -Must possess a Bachelor"s Degree from an accredited college or universityMinimum of 2 years" relevant work experience in data management / analysis with quantitative and analytical skills - recent graduates with demonstrated expertise will also be considered-Must be an expert in MS Excel"s functions, formulas, and data analysis / reporting capabilities
- Experience with working in MS Access databasesDESIREDIdeal candidates will present the following profile : -Proficient in programming with MS Access and Excel VBA, good knowledge of databases including SQL queries-Excellent written communication skills, including experience in summarizing results of analyses
- Strong research, analytical and organization skills-Ability to gather data, perform process analysis, and provide recommendations-Experience documenting business processes-Strong organizational, verbal, presentation, and written skills-Strong time-management skills and problem-solving skills-Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines-Demonstrated productivity in a team environment-Strong oral and presentation skillsKnowledge of toll systems and / or back-office operations is a plus
