As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) you are the first person to introduce a practice to Torch. It

will be your enthusiasm for how we can help practices reduce overhead and simplify practice operations

that will lead to a meeting with one of our practice consultants (Account Executives or AEs). The SDR

teams primary focus and responsibility is to build a sales pipeline by setting meetings with doctors who

are interested in learning more about Torch.

Must be strong communicator and great personality and willing to work in austin office full time

What we are looking for

If they have previous sales experience

Relevant previous experience Client facing internships / jobs sales clubs

alumni phone fundraising sales training etc.

Record of success in a sales role

9 or more months in each salesrelated role on their resume

If they dont have previous sales experience

Outlines focused sales career goals in application especially for

candidates with limited experience or career change

No major gaps in between roles (preferred)

Began some type of work (in any field) upon graduation

Overcame adversity in some way (athletics difficult job or industry military

experience)

Strong reason for why they are transitioning industries

Nice to have / bonus

Sales major or minor in college

Strong work ethic Athlete high GPA various involvement / leadership roles

sales competition clubs or organizations)

Sales training or certification

Experience working in dental office or other medical office (office

management / supply management)

Record of success in sales (longevity within a company amounting to at least 9

months or promotion to Sr. SDR role)

Red flags / may not be a good fit

Short tenure in roles at previous companies (less than 9 months 2 or more times)

Several different sales jobs at different companies (no more than 2 different SDR

roles listed on resume)

Several years of customer service or account management experience

Several roles / years of experience in midmarket or enterprise sales roles

Applied to several Torch jobs on the career site

Grammar or spelling errors on resume

Lack of effort or professionalism shown in resume or application questions

Misalignment on resume and LinkedIn profile (dates roles etc.)

Outbound Sales

Motivation 1

Clearly explains why they want to be in a sales role similar to Torch and

understands what cold calling really is. They understand the level of grit

needed in a high volume outbound cold calling role. If they have sales

experience its not exclusively in an inbound role enterprise role a role

where they did extensive research or emailheavy outreach.

Work Ethic 2

Driven and willing to go the extra mile. High quality understanding exeution

and explanation of deliverables. Goes above and beyond minimum

expectations rather than going through the motions.

Persistence 3

Willing to show humility while focusing on achieving the end result. Unafraid

of rejection and isnt rattled by adversity. Doesnt give up when others

would.

Coachability 4

Displays a student mindset with tangible examples of their ability to apply

feedback. Doesnt need to be asked to do the same thing more than once.

Attempts to try something even if theyre skeptical. If they struggle to

implement feedback they can explain why and adjust.

Professionalism 5

Prepared and on time for all interviews. Bonus points for presenting

themselves in a polished way (dressing nicely tidy background). Is

attentive responsive and respectful in the way they present themselves

and communicate. Speaks objectively or positively about previous employer

without tarnishing them.

Record of Success 6

Goal oriented. Has experience trying to win or be the best when the odds

were against them (sports academics extracurriculars). Can demonstrate

a story when they sold something (it could be selling themselves). Can

explain how they went about it what they had to overcome and the lessons

they learned.

Sales Fundamentals 7

Has the desire to run a sales motion similar to Torch. This means a high

velocity 30day sales cycle with roughly 10K ASP high call volume selling

to SMBs. Desire to be in a role where theyll be making a high volume of

cold calls primarily speaking with GKs who dont want to speak with them.Remote / Hybrid / In office
