Responsibilities
- Substantially contribute to a multi-disciplinary team which is conceptualizing, architecting, developing, and integrating software and hardware solutions.
- Collaborate with data architects, operations research analysts, subject matter experts, and systems engineers as a technical leader, establish technical standards, and drive engineering practices to develop comprehensive project-based solutions.
- Defines, establishes, and evolves overall product technical architecture solution for the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) System Program Office (SPO).
- Engages stakeholders and team members to solve various complex technology challenges across the enterprise.
- Recognize and overcome performance bottlenecks and implement modern tools and practices to a large complex system and software design.
- Works across a variety of projects to compose technical plans to support successful project endeavors, decomposing large scale projects into manageable technical components.
- Produces documents that rationalize technical plans with overall agreed upon roadmaps, capturing technical considerations and design decisions.
- Conveys the technical architecture for evaluation and consumption by both management and technical teams.
- Enables smooth transitions into fully operational projects / programs.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline with 10+ years of professional development experience or master’s degree with 8+ years of professional software development experience.
- Hands-on experience with software development, system administration, data architectures, containerization and cloud-based deployments.
- Experience working with large data sets through databases, JSON, and XML, and developing software to process data.
- Deep understanding of software design and architectural patterns.
- Solid understanding of and work experience employing multiple programming languages.
- Agile software development experience, with the ability to develop features both collaboratively and on your own with minimal supervision.
- Knowledgeable and experienced with the latest technical frameworks and architectures, adept at working with subject matter experts across the organization.
- Ability to see both the big picture and details of software architectures and anticipate and facilitate architectural changes over the full software lifecycle.
- Growth mindset and willingness to continually learn and apply new technologies.
- Strong communication skills to document and communicate plans and strategies.
- Active TS / SCI with CI Polygraph required. US Citizenship required.

- Space domain experience
- Understanding of different integration patterns and best practices such as events, synchronous vs asynchronous messaging, peer-to-peer, publish-to-subscribe, distributed logs and RESTful APIs
- Special focus on Agile methodologies, including Agile modeling, domain-driven design, refactoring, test-driven development
- Demonstrated web-development experience (Java / JSON, HTML, CSS, XML)
- Experience with enterprise data management solutions and platforms in the areas of master data management (MDM) data quality management, data governance, metadata management, Extract-Transform-Load (ETL), data warehousing, and data lakes
- Senior level EA certification (e.g., Enterprise Architecture Certification (CEA), Certified Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) architect, Certified IT Architect)
- Experience with AWS & Azure cloud services
Target salary range : $102,000 - $180,000. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to your skills, experience, education, and / or certifications.
